Charlie Martell’s ocean rowing boat Blossom, who will take adventure-loving Martell across the Pacific Ocean next year, caught the attention of a very special guest during day five of the Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.

HRH Princess Royal expressed enormous interest in Martell’s ocean rowing boat and hearing about the Pacific 2012 challenge from Martell’s former Gordonstoun Rugby coach and mentor, Ben Goss.  Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne is the guardian of one Charlie’s recipient charities Give them a Sporting Chance, of which Martell is an active team member. In spring 2012 Charlie Martell sets out to row 6,000 miles across the Pacific from Japan to the USA. Charlie is aiming to become the first and fastest Briton to break a world record and complete an unsupported solo row.
